New Chapter for a Beloved Character

At last, the Hollywood fixer we’ve been waiting for is back. After seven years since Once Upon a Time in Hollywood premiered, Brad Pitt returns as Cliff Booth in The Further Mis‑Adventures of Cliff Booth. The story is set in 1977, eight years after the events of the 2019 film, and follows Booth as he works as a bartender, projectionist and, most notably, a Hollywood fixer who cleans up the messier side of the entertainment industry.

Plot Details and Cast

The narrative kicks off when talent agent Karen Crosby, played by Elizabeth Debicki, calls Booth for help with her client, television star Charlie Peters (Scott Caan). Peters, a stunt‑performing TV hero, is tangled with his wife Toni (Carla Gugino) and former football star Roderick “Hot Rod” Harrison (Yahya Abdul‑Mateen II). Adding danger are the Verdusco brothers, gangsters portrayed by Matt Groove and JB Tadena. Timothy Olyphant also returns as James Stacy, the actor who rode off on a motorcycle in the original film.

Behind the Camera

Quentin Tarantino wrote the screenplay, but the director’s chair belongs to David Fincher, known for Seven, Fight Club, Gone Girl and The Killer. Fincher’s involvement brings a darker, more psychological tone to the sequel, contrasting with Tarantino’s stylized pulp while keeping the story rooted in the alternate‑history Hollywood he created.

Release Strategy

The film will debut with an exclusive two‑week IMAX run beginning Nov. 25, timed for the Thanksgiving holiday. After the theatrical window, it will stream on Netflix starting Dec. 23, 2026, adding another high‑profile title to the platform’s 2026 lineup.

Significance for Tarantino Fans

This marks Tarantino’s first new feature screenplay to reach audiences since Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, even though he is not directing. He set aside the previously announced final film The Movie Critic and handed the Booth sequel to Fincher after Pitt suggested the director, allowing Tarantino to focus on an original story he is still developing.

With a blend of gritty 1970s Los Angeles crime and the familiar charm of Tarantino’s fictional Hollywood, the film promises a fresh yet familiar adventure for fans eager to see what happens next to one of cinema’s most iconic stuntmen.
