Canadian astronaut Joshua Kutryk joins NASA’s Anil Menon for ISS solar‑array work

On Oct. 29, 2026, CSA astronaut Joshua Kutryk and NASA astronaut Anil Menon installed a new roll‑out solar array on the International Space Station.
Joshua Kutryk, a Canadian Space Agency astronaut, was photographed during a spacewalk on Oct. 29, 2026.
The International Space Station was orbiting 267 miles above the South Atlantic Ocean at the time.
During the EVA, Kutryk and NASA astronaut Anil Menon installed a new roll‑out solar array and performed preparatory tasks for a subsequent spacewalk.
The pair will return on Nov. 5, 2026 for a second EVA.
That walk will see the installation of the eighth and final roll‑out solar array.
All eight arrays together are expected to increase the station’s available power by up to 30 %.
