Creepy YouTube Finds to Finish the Halloween Season
A hand‑picked mix of unsettling shorts and oddball videos on YouTube promises to cap off spooky season.
Get ready to close out the Halloween season with a trio of creepy, weird, and unsettling YouTube videos.
1983 Feminist Musical Short
This 12‑minute 1983 short film by Cecelia Condit only found a wide audience after being uploaded to YouTube and later surfacing on Reddit. If you’ve ever wondered what a feminist musical about cannibals directed by David Lynch would be like, wonder no more. The clip has sparked hours of analysis on the platform, dissecting its unsettling imagery.
Homemade Gatorade – Horror Meets Comedy
The line between horror and comedy is razor thin, and Homemade Gatorade expertly threads that line. It blends stiff animation with heavily processed video, creating a bizarre, uncomfortable, and uncanny road‑trip short. I’m never sure if I should be laughing or squirming in terror with every turn.
Portrait of God – Minimalist Cosmic Horror
Big‑budget cosmic horror films often try to show too much, but Portrait of God proves less is more. Its short runtime is spent staring into an empty abyss— or perhaps something that isn’t empty at all. The minimalist approach makes the dread feel even more palpable.
Whether you love surreal art‑house shorts, cosmic dread, or just a weird viral clip, these three YouTube picks are sure to get you in the Halloween spirit.
