World of Warcraft: Forever goes live

Blizzard announced that World of Warcraft: Forever launched worldwide on Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 6 p.m. EST. A retro remix of the original game, now with modern touches.

The new mode is built on the state of WoW as it was at launch in 2004, but adds fresh content, rebalanced classes, graphical enhancements and a host of other modernizations.

Players will find the original nine character classes and eight playable races, divided between the Horde and Alliance, which remain unable to communicate or group together. All classic zones, dungeons, raids and cities across the two continents are present.

Access to WoW: Forever is included with a standard World of Warcraft subscription. The optional Skyborne content and its starting zone are sold separately.

Depending on your time zone, the 6 p.m. EST launch translates to different local times; the rollout occurs on Nov. 4 for most regions and on Nov. 5 for others.
