FedEx announced quarterly results for the period ended Sept. 30 that exceeded Wall Street earnings expectations and included an adjusted earnings per share (EPS) of $3.74.

Net income for the quarter was $290 million, or $1.21 per share, compared with $650 million and $2.73 per share a year earlier. The adjusted EPS figure excludes one‑time items such as losses on short‑term investments, gains from extinguishing debt and certain restructuring costs.

This filing marks the first report of FedEx’s newly realigned fiscal year, which now ends on Dec. 31 instead of May 31, and follows the recent spin‑off of FedEx Freight into a separate publicly traded company.

As a trend, the company highlighted stronger performance in high‑value market segments while optimizing its network.

CEO Raj Subramaniam said the results and adjusted free cash flow demonstrate the company’s success across those segments and support an increase to the full‑year outlook.

For the full year, FedEx now expects adjusted EPS of $18 to $18.60, up from the prior range of $16.90 to $18.10. The firm also raised its 2026 revenue growth expectation to roughly 12% year‑over‑year, versus the earlier guidance of an 11% increase.

Earlier this week, FedEx named former AutoZone executive Jamere Jackson as its new chief financial officer, effective Nov. 30. He replaces Claude Russ, who has served as interim CFO since June 1, after John Dietrich stepped down from the role in April.

Shares of FedEx slipped slightly in extended trading following the announcement.

FedEx’s earnings beat and upgraded outlook signal confidence in its post‑realignment strategy.
