Borthwick Announces 36-Man England Squad, Mitchell Misses Nations Championship

England coach Steve Borthwick reveals a 36‑player roster for the Nations Championship, with scrum‑half Alex Mitchell sidelined by injury.
England head coach Steve Borthwick has released a 36‑player squad for the forthcoming Nations Championship.
The group, comprising 20 forwards and 16 backs, will convene at England’s performance centre at Pennyhill Park on November 2.
England’s next test is against Australia at Allianz Stadium on November 8, marking round four of the tournament.
“We’re looking forward to getting back to Allianz Stadium for four important Test matches against top‑level opposition,” Borthwick said.
“These fixtures take on added significance this Autumn as they represent our final opportunity to face Southern Hemisphere opposition before next year’s Rugby World Cup. He added that facing Australia is “an exciting challenge” given their recent volume of Test rugby and the quality they bring.
Following the Australia match, England will host Japan and New Zealand at Allianz Stadium in rounds five and six, before the Finals Weekend from Friday 27 to Sunday 29 November.
