Victor Ozhianvuna bids farewell to Shamrock Rovers before joining Arsenal’s academy in a deal first agreed in October 2025.
Victor Ozhianvuna has signed for Arsenal after an emotional goodbye to Shamrock Rovers, the club where he began his career at age six.
The highly‑rated midfielder, who turned 18 in January, will join the north London side’s academy in the New Year. The transfer, first agreed in October 2025, follows a season in which he made 37 senior appearances for the reigning League of Ireland Premier Division champions.
“After 11 amazing years, I’m saying goodbye to the club where I’ve made memories that I’ll never forget,” he wrote on Instagram, adding gratitude to coaches, teammates, friends, family and supporters.
He noted that recent injury setbacks left him “gutted,” but he felt fortunate to finish his time with the Hoops by “winning the league and lifting the trophy in front of the fans.”
As a lifelong Arsenal fan, Ozhianvuna concluded his statement with, “Forever grateful, Forever a Hoop,” before looking ahead to the next stage of his career in London.
