Salesforce has sealed a deal to acquire Rune Technologies, a startup that builds artificial‑intelligence software for U.S. military supply‑chain forecasting and field logistics, for a total consideration of $375 million in cash and stock, according to Resilience Media.

The purchase is being folded into Missionforce, Salesforce’s dedicated business unit for national‑security and defense customers. Missionforce has logged an 80 % year‑over‑year revenue increase since its launch last year, a growth partly credited to a new 10‑year, $5.6 billion contract with the U.S. Army, the company said in a blog post. By adding Rune’s frontline logistics data, Missionforce aims to move beyond traditional back‑office administrative planning and provide support directly to battlefield operations.

Rune was founded in 2024 and has so far raised $30 million from investors such as Andreessen Horowitz, Point72 Ventures and IQT, the nonprofit venture arm formerly known as In‑Q‑Tel. The startup’s most recent valuation was $127 million after a Series A round led by Human Capital last year, per PitchBook.

Salesforce’s acquisition activity this year includes a $3.6 billion purchase of AI‑agent platform Fin (formerly Intercom), a $1.2 billion acquisition of Qualified, and an agreement to buy Listen Labs after the startup declined a $125 million Series C at a $1.5 billion valuation, as reported by TechCrunch.
