Frenchman Julien Sale Wins HotelPlanner Tour Grand Final as Danish Hamish Brown Tops Road to Mallorca Rankings

Julien Sale clinched the HotelPlanner Tour Grand Final with a 65, while Hamish Brown finished the season atop the Road to Mallorca leaderboard.
Julien Sale delivered a dominant final round at the HotelPlanner Tour Grand Final, posting a 65 to finish at 22 under par and win by four strokes over Denmark’s Hamish Brown.
The 29‑year‑old Frenchman began the day with a one‑stroke lead, then fired four front‑nine birdies at Club de Golf Alcanada to extend his advantage. A gain on the par‑five 12th further widened the gap before he dropped a single shot on the next hole, later rebounding with three birdies in his final six.
Sale’s victory marks his second HotelPlanner Tour win of 2026, following a triumph at the Le Vaudreuil Golf Challenge earlier in the year, and makes him the fifth French player to capture the Grand Final after Clément Sordet (2017), Benjamin Hebert (2014), Mike Lorenzo‑Vera (2007) and Nicolas Joakimides (1997).
“Coming this week, I didn’t have much stress because I knew I was inside the top 15 and the goal was to win the tournament and obviously try to finish number one on the ranking,” Sale said, adding that he now looks forward to enjoying the achievement with his family.
Sale had already secured promotion to the DP World Tour before the Mallorca finale and will step up to that circuit for the first time after finishing the year second in the overall rankings.
Meanwhile, 27‑year‑old Hamish Brown posted a closing five‑under 67 to finish the week at 18 under par, holding solo second place as South African MJ Daffue missed a birdie putt on the 72nd hole.
Brown’s season‑long performance earned him the top spot on the Road to Mallorca rankings, making him the fifth Dane to claim that title after Rasmus Neergaard‑Petersen (2024), Marcus Helligkilde (2021), Joachim B Hansen (2018) and Thomas Bjørn (1995).
“It means a lot,” Brown remarked, acknowledging the “proper grind” of the season and conceding that he could not win the final round because of Sale’s “extremely well” play.
The Grand Final results close a busy week on the HotelPlanner Tour, with Sale’s victory and Brown’s ranking triumph setting the stage for the next season’s challenges.
