Daniel Craig’s 2011 psychological thriller Dream House is currently climbing the HBO Max international movie charts, according to data from FlixPatrol.

The film, directed by Jim Sheridan, is ranked #3 in several countries, indicating a notable spike in streaming interest.

In the story, Craig plays Will Atenton, a successful New York publisher who moves his wife Libby (Rachel Weisz) and their two daughters to a quiet New England town, only to discover that the house they bought was the site of a gruesome murder.

With the help of neighbor Ann Patterson (Naomi Watts), who was close to the murdered family, Will begins to investigate the tragedy, uncovering increasingly unsettling details about the house’s past.

When it premiered in 2011, Dream House was not well received; Rotten Tomatoes records a 7% critics’ score and a 36% audience score. Critics cited slow pacing and predictable twists as major flaws.

Despite that lukewarm reception, more than a decade after its theatrical release the film is finding a new audience, buoyed by streaming visibility and renewed interest in Craig’s work outside the James Bond franchise.

The timing coincides with the ongoing search for Craig’s successor as 007, giving fans another reason to explore his broader filmography.
