Belgian Prime Minister offers resignation after budget talks collapse

Prime Minister Bart De Wever submitted his resignation following a failed budget negotiation.
Prime Minister Bart De Wever offered his resignation during a 90‑minute meeting with King Philippe on Monday morning.
The offer followed the collapse of overnight budget talks, which left coalition parties unable to resolve a months‑long deadlock over the next year’s budget.
The Royal Palace announced that the king will consider De Wever’s resignation and will consult the leaders of the other coalition parties from Tuesday.
